Events

2018 Events
The Tingara Netball Club is focusing on building a strong club culture for our Senior players in the 2018 season and beyond.

The Committee is striving to promote a number of social events and relaxed evenings for our older members to build their social culture away from the netball courts and interact with members in all teams. We strongly encourage all our senior players to get involved with these events to help improve our Club.

For more information on upcoming events please keep an eye out for our monthly newsletter and check out our Facebook page!

Volunteering

Tingara values and encourages its many volunteers.  Every season, the Club engages about 200 volunteers to act as Management Committee members, coaches, umpires, managers and assistants to these many and valuable jobs.

The Club aims to assist all volunteers in their various roles as best it can.  This assistance comes in various ways, primarily as follows:
  • the Club's rules and policies are made available for all to see - refer to the Committees, Policies and Governance page and also the Club Registration Pack and Grading Information
  • the Club's Management Committee position descriptions are set out in the Club's By-laws
  • the Club provides a detailed Coaches and Managers Manual to all coaches and managers and conducts an introductory session before the season starts for these roles
  • the Club actively promotes courses for coaches and umpires  - please refer to the Coaching, Umpiring and Injury Prevention page
  • the Club has umbrella insurance cover under the insurance taken out by Netball WA - please refer to details on Netball WA's website and also the Netball WA Member Protection Policy
  • the Club rewards its volunteers in a number of ways eg by providing free or discounted Club shirts/tops, by providing free entrance for coaches to Club windups, by discounting registration fees for Club player/coaches and by regularly thanking them in our Club newsletters and windups etc.
There are various ways to volunteer for working with Tingara.  The best way of course is to contact one of the Committee members (refer to the Committees, Policies and Governance page for contact details). Generally, the best people to contact for the various forms of volunteering are as follows:
  • Positions on the Management Committee - the President or one of the Vice Presidents
  • Coaching or assistant coaching roles or a manager role  - the Junior or Senior Coaching Co-ordinators
  • Umpiring - the  Umpiring Co-ordinator
  • Sponsoring - the President or one of the Vice Presidents
  • Any other role - any of the Committee members

Of course, feel free to speak to anyone who has been around the Club for a while - we pride ourselves in being a friendly, well run and competitive netball club.

Good luck - we welcome all volunteers!
