Umpiring
If you would like to umpire for Tingara or you would like to learn how to umpire, please express your interest to Keryn Rae on 0409 030 687 or email kmrae@internode.on.net.
There are multiple opportunities for development of your umpiring and the Tingara Netball Club values, encourages and supports all of our umpires.
Those interested in umpiring are encouraged to apply for the FNA run Junior Umpire Development Program.
Tingara also runs our own umpire training program. Places are limited due to the number of suitable games we have for beginner umpires, the number of umpire trainers available and the requirements of the existing umpire team.
First step is to let the Umpire Coordinator know you are interested in umpiring.
Second, read the rules, complete the online learning components and then commit to training – trialling at grading, attending training sessions as well as on the job training. New umpires must be available for any timeslot given for at least the first 2 years – including the early 8am timeslot.
The International rules of netball may be downloaded for free here.
On MyNetball, umpires need to complete the Rules of Netball theory course.
Also on MyNetball, new umpires must complete the Foundation of Umpiring online course.
