To all of our returning and new members, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the 2010 Netball season.

As the year gets underway, there is a buzz around the courts of Brentwood Primary School. You can see girls back on court enjoying a catch up with old friends and getting their hands hardened for another season on the netballs they know so well. Our newest and youngest members while looking forward to spending time with their friends from school are standing wide eyed getting an introduction to a game that they will grow to love over the coming years.

At Tingara Netball Club, we pride ourselves on the fact that we value participation, sportsmanship, community and skill development within a friendly social environment. We are very much a family oriented club. Over the coming season I look forward to meeting many of our members and their parents.

Many of you are by now aware that I have taken over the reins as the President of the Tingara Netball Club and to coin a phrase from Big Kev – “I’m excited”. Carlo Calleri resigned from the position last month and I would like to thank Carlo for the time and effort he put into the club.

Our committee has been hard at work organising the season ahead with a very successful registration day (numbers are up on last year) and 2 weeks of grading now at an end. These events do not happen without many people putting in a lot of effort and I would like to thank all who helped with these two vital tasks. After 2 weeks of grading and many hours of working through the teams for 2010, our grading committee has settled on and registered 28 teams for the coming year with the Fremantle Netball Association. Well done ladies!!

As part of our club moving forward, we encourage you to use the website. We will place more and more information here for you to access and hopefully help with your Tingara experience.

WE NEED YOU!!

Any community club only functions at its best when it has enough people to help. The more who help, the less the workload for all. If you feel you could spare some time for your daughters’ netball club, we would really appreciate it. We want the Tingara experience for our girls to be a time they fondly remember so we need you. We are not necessarily asking you to come to committee meetings each month. We are however seeking help perhaps with coaching (hey if I can coach anyone can) or maybe by being a team manager for your daughter’s team or offering to help if the committee needs assistance.

So come along and scream for your team. Your children will remember it for the rest of their lives.

Just a quick reminder to all of you who are looking for sports shoes this season, for every pair of shoes we purchase from The Athlete’s Foot in Garden City Booragoon (and mention Tingara), our club will receive $5. Every little bit counts

Finally I look forward to seeing many of you down at the courts in Fremantle over the coming season. Please feel free to come up and say G’day.
